Description
The muscle car era wasn't fading quietly in 1971. It was going out with one last thunderous roar, and Pontiac made sure the GTO was leading the charge. While the industry was beginning to feel the effects of tightening emissions regulations and soaring insurance rates, Pontiac still believed there was no substitute for cubic inches. The result was one of the most desirable open-air muscle cars ever built. With just 661 GTO Convertibles produced, the 1971 model stands as the final full-production year of the standalone GTO Convertible and remains one of the lowest-production American muscle car convertibles of its era.
Finished in timeless Harvest Gold over a Brown bucket seat interior, this GTO captures everything enthusiasts love about early 1970s Pontiac styling. The paint shows some age with areas of chipping, as shown in the photos, but the car continues to present exceptionally well with an honest, well-kept appearance that reflects years of enjoyment rather than years hidden away. The warm color combination, Rally II wheels, and aggressive GTO styling create the unmistakable presence that made these cars legends. Lower the power convertible top, slide behind the wheel, and you're immediately reminded why nothing replaces the feeling of a true American muscle convertible.
