For sale this 1966 VW single-cab flatbed pickup in factory Dove Blue. It runs, shifts, brakes and handles like a 50-year-old car should, and all three gates work and are complete. It is a single Treasure Chest model single cab Type 2.
The ’66 flatbed is difficult to find in complete or near complete condition, and a fully restored single-cab can sell for $30,000, or skyrocket well beyond in the right market. 
Plenty of aftermarket and NOS body, trim and engine parts and components are available for the Type 2 flatbeds of this era, including some of the major body panels.
It is being sold in AS IS condition. There is rust on the body and the undercarriage, as the photos show, but the essential main frame appears to have survived the California beach climate. More photos can be found at the link below.
The glass appears factory and period correct, and the two sliders work fine. Again, it can be driven away as it sits, and not touched, just enjoyed. Or, taken to a restoration shop and brought to 100 percent again. 
The tires have plenty of tread life remaining, and the engine runs strong. It starts immediately with no hesitation.
To the best of knowledge, the interior looks mostly stock with the addition of an aftermarket stereo system, and speakers. The gauges all appear authentic factory VW for the period. It has seat belts for driver and passenger, and seats are in good condition. Mechanically, it is solid for a car that is half a century old. It has newer tie rods and ends. The engine is likely from a later model VW. The odometer shows 01750 miles.
