The 1972 Triumph TR6 is finished in Saffron Yellow over black vinyl upholstery and is powered by a 2.5-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Additional equipment consists of a black soft top & frame (included but currently removed from the car to accommodate the matching hardtop), 15″ steel wheels, stainless trim rings, excellent tread radial tires dated, dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, chrome bumpers, and a recently restored matching hardtop. Recent service, within the past 500 miles includes a complete brake inspection and necessary repairs, a complete tune-up, adjustment of carburetors, fluid changes, and a new stainless steel exhaust system. The TR6 comes with a number of repair manuals, books, repair/maintenance history dating back over 40 years.
The TR6 received a re-paint under previous ownership including the addition of TR6 British flags on the rear fenders. The car left the factory in Saffron yellow and has never had a color change with the factory paint still showing in the engine bay, trunk, and door jambs. The body is very straight with no signs of previous or current accident or major damage. Bumpers and trim are good and some of the door rubber was changed when the interior underwent a complete restoration. The glass on the car is free from cracks and damage, and the windows roll up and seal properly. The front windshield is free from any cracks and is in very good condition. Silver-painted 15″ steel wheels with trim rings and TR6 center caps wear 185-series Michelin X red-line tires. Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums with a replacement master cylinder and recent brake repairs by a local British repair professional.

Engine & Mechanical
The TR6 has great torque, power, and emits a wonderful sound from the newer stainless exhaust system. The sound is just right; not too loud but perfect for a sports car from this era.The TR6 starts and runs well. As a 1972, the car is exempt from California smog but remains stock in its engine configuration having only received replacement of tune-up and other mechanical components as needed over the years. The car was inspected by a foreign car specialist and received a replacement differential, related suspension work, and a tune-up within 1,000 miles. The car is good mechanically and is fun to drive. The TR6 starts immediately when cold and hot and runs cool, even in warm California temperatures. The battery is excellent and TR6 always starts on the first attempt. The engine does not smoke.
This is a TR6 is an excellent choice for a solid desirable British sports car at a reasonable price in a marketplace where many sports cars have become unaffordable. The extensive file documents regular ongoing attention and long- time ownership.
