1954 Mercury Monterey hardtop, 256 cu in V-8 with a 4 barrel carburetor, 3-speed with overdrive manual transmission, power steering, power brakes, original 6-volt positive ground electrical system.The carburetor and distributor have been upgraded to 1957 Thunderbird units. The original teapot carburetor, oil bath air cleaner, distributor, oil pump and oil pump shaft come with the car, as does an original shop manual.There is a battery switch in the engine compartment because of a slow battery drain. The radio, clock, and gauges don't work, but aftermarket coolant temperature and oil pressure gauges have been installed under the dash. An aftermarket horn button has been installed under the steering column, as the one on the steering wheel doesn't work.A 6-volt electric fuel pump was added to make starting easier after the car had sat for a long time. Once started, the electric fuel pump can be turned off as the mechanical fuel pump works fine.The engine starts right up, and doesn't smoke. There are no leaks under the car. The tires have less than 1000 miles on them.In 2016, the car was stripped to bare metal, any rust was cut out and replaced with sheet metal. The car was then resprayed siren red.
